Reconnecting with Nature

through Journaling & Tea

Join us for a morning of Reconnecting with Nature in our three hour, two part workshop Sunday August 3rd from 8-11am.

Reconnecting with the natural world after a disaster can be difficult. We can hold on to fear and even resentment, blocking our ability to be at peace with nature. Nature provides us with peace, beauty, and infinite wonder. Reflecting in nature by focusing and recording our observations, thoughts, and experiences is a practice that can bring healing in times of crisis.

Artist Carolina Corona will kick off this workshop by leading us through the process of Nature Journaling as we explore the Beaver Lake Bird Sanctuary. Local tea educator Shunyu Huang will conclude the workshop sharing her passion with wild, Chinese teas.

Nature Journaling

Nature Journaling brings us closer to reconnecting and deepening our connection with nature while sharpening our observation and drawing skills.

Carolina of Corona Fine Art will guide us through various prompts to help us reconnect during the first two hours of our time in the sanctuary.

Sketching + Tea Tasting

Our workshop comes to a close with a one hour session of tea and community with Shunyu Huang’s Wild Flavors Tea project. Here we will come together and sit in stillness as we discuss culture and our many connections to nature around the globe.

Participants are welcome to continue working in their journals during this time, applying elements of what they learned earlier on into final sketches in their journals for the day.
