Caravan Art Bazaar is a Collective of local BIPOC artists and organizations in Western North Carolina reimagining the art sales industry, using art to support global mutual aid. Caravan Art Bazaar provides free marketing and sales opportunities for BIPOC artists and organizations in WNC. We create and join markets, pop-up events, and fundraisers, displaying and selling artworks for folks who can’t attend these events, creating passive income without membership or sales fees.
CAB also helps artists create and organize workshops designed for public and BIPOC affinity spaces, keeping accessibility in mind and maximizing profits for artists & facilitators alike.
Inspired by bazaars & markets around the globe from travels and using experience as an independent artist and a market event organizer, CAB founder Mike Talyad of Jungle Branch launched this project with the hopes of building stronger accessibility and empowerment for BIPOC artists in the art + market scene of WNC.
Caravan Art Bazaar’s ART 4 AID program uses art for good by donating a percent of sales from artwork by participating artists to various grassroots mutual aid programs near and far.
To date, CAB has helped raise over $17,000 in funds for Hurricane Helene disaster relief in North Carolina, rainforest conservation in Peru and Sumatra, community land stewardship near Cherokee, affordable housing in Swannanoa NC, community art experiences in Asheville, cultural preservation in Vietnam, and more!
