Ma Mockingbird

Ma Mockingbird is an ancient futurist singer, songwriter, and multidisciplinary artist blending soul, jazz, folk, and R&B into music that reflects on the human condition, transformation, and the future we are creating together.

Alongside original music, she weaves in beloved jazz and bossa nova standards that have shaped her musical language and sense of storytelling. Often personifying the Earth or other-dimensional voices in her songwriting, her work explores grief, beauty, resilience, and hope in a rapidly changing world.

Based in the Appalachian Mountains, she is also the founder of Nawaya and Soul and Soil Project, initiatives rooted in regenerative culture, food sovereignty, and community care.

Her music asks not just what is falling apart, but where we go from here.
