A native Ashevillian, I grew up in the studios of the local artists, gathering an admiration for a plethora of different mediums - ceramics, fiber, glass, paint, etc. I later began studying herbalism and horticulture, and eventually began incorporating my love for plants in my work by making my own natural dyes and inks.

I also tend to create a lot with scavenged materials all in attempts to strive to demonstrate that creativity can flourish with readily available resources - being with plants, bones, or trash.

Alex Stilber / Asheville, NC

My creative process is often seemingly chaotic, organically unfolding as I work, channeling inspiration from dreams or a specific emotions and the voices of the materials. Almost everything has something to say if we listen..

My artworks often explore primal emotions, the beauty of the human form, and seek to unravel the veil over the eyes of humanity and remind us of our oneness with nature…
