Ronnie Cruz Music
Ronnie Cruz, though relatively new to the scene as a solo artist, is no stranger to music. Growing up singing in choirs and performing in school shows, spending hours in front of the home piano teaching himself how to play, Ronnie got his first guitar at the age of 14.
Within a few months, he and his best friends formed a band that would eventually become Bruther Monk. The band went on to play some of the most iconic stages in North Carolina including the multiple headlining shows at the renowned Cat’s Cradle in Carborro. They played many shows out of state as well, the most notable of which were two shows at the legendary CBGB’s. Eventually, the group disbanded and Ronnie shelved his dreams of a music career to make way for other pursuits.
Ronnie Cruz / Hot Springs, NC
Fast forward to 2025 and Ronnie found himself at a crossroads, an opportunity to choose the next chapter in life.
He chose music.
In late spring ‘25 he started playing at the local open mic, never really having played solo before. Gradually gaining confidence and building his skill, Ronnie ventured out to other open mics in Asheville and the surrounding areas. By fall of that year he self produced and self released his debut single “Bruther” and from there it was off to the races.
Shortly after “Bruther,” Ronnie released his second single “Nothing Ever Changes” and then his third single on Valentine’s Day, the post-breakup song “Wasted Tears.”
These three singles would eventually be complied with nine other original tracks to make up Ronnie’s debut album, “CLASSIC: the album” which he also self produced and self released on April 11, 2026.
Both nostalgic and timeless, Ronnie’s music transcends the boundaries of genre and delivers something entirely new and yet immediately familiar.
